Propserous Armenia or the BHK was founded in 2005 by the wealthy businessman Gagik Tsarukian. It describes itself as centre-right and believes in conservatism and liberal conservatism.
The party has only fought one major election, in 2007, when it took 15.13% of the vote and came second with 18 of the 131 seats in the National Assembly. After the election they joined with the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) to form a coalition government.
