People’s Democratic Party

The People’s Democratic Party or PDP was founded on 24th March 2007 soon after political parties were allowed in the country. It describes itself as Centre-left and believes in Social democracy, Liberalism, Gross national happiness, Populism, Nationalism, and Royalism.

In March 2008, the party won two of the 47 seats in the National Assembly. It was one of just two political parties standing in that first election.
