Published 17th November, 2011
The Democratic Arab Nasserite Party was founded in 1992 by Diaeddin Dawood. It describes itself as the successor to the old Arab Socialist Union Party and believes in Arab socialism, Arab nationalism and pan-Arabism. The party is also anti US imperialism and globalisation as well as being anti-Zionist.
In 1995 the party won one seat and increased this in 2000 to three seats. With an ageing leadership the party failed to win any seats in 2005 or 2010.
The Democratic Arab Nasserite Party is a member of the Democratic Alliance.
