Freedom and Justice Party

The Freedom and Justice Party was founded on 6th June 2011 and is the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood. The party describes itself as a ‘civil’ party rather than an Islamic one. Although it believes in Islamism and Islamic Democracy as well as conservatism.
Established in 1928 the Muslim Brotherhood was declared an illegal organisation in 1954. They were involved in elections under Anwar Sadat’s regime and secured representation, often standing as independents.
The Freedom and Justice Party is a founding member of the Democratic Alliance.
