Hunting, Fishing, Nature, Tradition

The Hunting, Fishing, Nature, Tradition party or CPNT was founded in 1989 to advocate the protection of traditional country life and maintenance of the rural way of life and values. It describes itself as an Agrarian party and believes in Agrarianism.
The party has not achieved much electoral success except for the 1999 European parliament elections when they managed to win six of the 87 national seats in the European parliament. They subsequently lost those seats in the 2004 elections and in 2009 they won one seat as part of the Libertas alliance with the Movement for France.
The party is currently part of the Liaison Committee for the Presidential Majority which supports President Nicolas Sarkozy.
The Hunting, Fishing, Nature, Tradition party is a member of the European parliamentary group, the Europe of Democracies and Diversities.
