Gabonese Progress Party

The Gabonese Progress Party was founded in 1990 by Pierre-Louis Agondjo Okawé and others. It describes itself as left leaning.
From a strong start, the PGP won 18 of the 120 seats in the National Assembly in 1990, it has slowly declined.
In 1996 the party won 10 seats, in 2011 they won three seats and in 2006 they won just two seats. It remains an opposition party.
Pierre-Louis Agondjo Okawé died in in August 2005.
