The main battleground for the 2012 general election appears to be between the established United National Movement (UNM) and Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia. Opinion polls suggest that other parties will not reach the threshold for representation. We will amend this list if the situation changes.
In the 2008 general election the following parties won seats
The Joint Opposition (Coalition between the National Council and New Rights) – 17 seats
Christian-Democratic Movement – 6 seats
Georgian Labour Party – 6 seats
Republican Party of Georgia (See Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia) – 2 seats.
