The Alliance for Change or AFC was formed in 2005 by three parliamentarians who left their respected parties, the PPP, PNC and WPA. They stand on a platform of making race less important and of creating an electoral system which moves the country away from domination by one political party.
In their first election in 2006 they received 8.4% of the vote and five seats in the National Assembly.
