Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran

The Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran or ABII (also known as Abadgaran) was founded on 11th April 2003. The party describes itself as far right and believes in Islamism, anti-communism, populism and Iranian conservatism. It is an alliance of right wing conservative political parties.
President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad is currently a leader of the alliance. He won the 2005 presidential election in the second roud with 61.69% of the vote and again in a disputed 2009 presidential election when he won with 62.63% of the vote.
In 2004 the alliance won 156 of the 290 seats in the Majlis or parliament. For that election you may see them referred to as the Isargaran or Society of Devotees of the Islamic Revolution.
In 2008 the alliance won 195 seats in the 290 seat parliament.
The ABII is believed to have close ties with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
