About political parties in Ireland

In order to be registered to contest in national elections a political party must have at least one elected representative in the Irish Parliament (Dáil Éireann) or European Parliament or have 300 recorded members over 18 years of age with at least half the members on the register of electors.

Parties that stand in only part of the republic or in local elections must have 100 recorded members over 18 years of age with at least half the members on the register of electors.
