Brothers of Italy – National Centre-right

The Brothers of Italy – National Centre-right or FdI–CN was founded on 17th December 2012 by Ignazio La Russa, national coordinator of The People of Freedom (PdL). The split with the PdL was part of a planned arrangement with them to garner more right-wing votes. The party describes itself as Right Wing and believes in national Conservatism, Conservatism and Italian Nationalism.
In the 2013 general election the Brothers of Italy – National Centre-Right stood as part of Silvio Berlusconi’s Centre-Right Coalition, led by The People of Freedom (PdL) and won nine of the 630 seats in the Chamber of Deputies.
The Brothers of Italy – National Centre-Right are members of the European People’s Party (EPP) in the European Parliament where they have two of the 73 national seats.
