National Democratic Movement

Published 12th December, 2011

The National Democratic Movement or NDM was founded in October 1995 by Bruce Golding after his resignation from the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) (he subsequently rejoined the JLP in 2002).

Despite winning a number of votes in their first outing in 1997, the party has never won any seats to the House of Representatives. It describes itself as a medium for discussion rather than a threat to either of the two main parties.
