Liberal Democratic Party

The Liberal Democratic Party was founded in 1997 as a merger of the Liberal Party of Macedonia (LPM) and the Democratic Party (DP).
In 1998 they won two seats and in 2002 won 12 seats and joined the SDSM coalition government. Out of government in 2006, the LDP was reduced to five seats and in 2008 remained out of government.
The LDP is a member of Liberal International and an affilaite member of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party.
