Alliance for Justice and Democracy/Movement for Renewal

The Alliance for Justice and Democracy/Movement for Renewal or AJD/MR was founded in 2007 as a merger between the Movement for National Reconciliation and Alliance for Justice and Democracy (AJD). It seeks to represent the black African minority population in the country.
In the 2007 presidential election their leader Ibrahima Moctar Sarr came fifth with 7.95% of the vote. In the 2009 election Sarr came fifth again with 4.59% of the vote.
In the 2013 general election the party won four of the 146 seats in the National Assembly.
