Arab Socialist Movement

The Arab Socialist Movement which is also known as the Arab Socialist Party or ASP is believed to have roots which go back to the 1930s. It describes itself as left wing and believes in Socialism, Arab Socialism and Secularism.
In more recent times we know that it has been part of the National Progressive Front since 1973. It has held representation since 1973, holding three seats in 1973 and 1977; five seats in 1981, 1986 and 1990, dropping to four seats in 1994, 1998 and 2003 and then dropping again to three seats in 2007.
