Unionist Democratic Union

The Unionist Democratic Union or UDU was founded in November 1988 and recognised the same month. It describes itself as pan Arabist and nationalist.
The party won its first seats in 1994 when it took three seats. It went up to seven in 1999 and remained on seven in 2004. In 2009 the UDU won nine seats and 2.56% of the vote in the 214 seat Chamber of Deputies.
