The Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform Vitaliy Klychko or UDAR is the legal transformation of the political party “European Capital” which was originally founded in 2004. However this essentially new party was formed by former professional heavyweight boxer and current WBC world heavyweight champion Vitaliy Klychko in April 2010. The party describes itself as centre-right and believes in anti-corruption and pro-Europeanism.
The party has yet to prove itself in a general election, but the opinion polls for the 2012 election suggest that it will be one of five parties with elected representatives in the new parliament. The party did win 400 seats in municipalities and Oblast Councils in the 2010 local elections.
