First round elections took place on 7 August 2011.

Jorge Carlos Fonseca (Movement for Democracy) 37.3%
Manuel InocĂȘncio Sousa (African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde) 32.0%
Aristides Lima (independent) 27.4%
Joaquim Jaime Monteiro (independent) 2.0%

Votes: 160,077
Turnout: 53.1%

In the second round, which took place on 21 August 2011, Manuel InocĂȘncio received 45.84% of the vote. Jorge Carlos Fonseca received 54.16% of the vote and was elected President. Turnout in the second round was 59.7%.
