The election took place in two rounds, on 25 October and 20 December 2013. The results in the first round were as follows:

Jean Louis Robinson (AVANA) 21.10%
Hajo Herivelona Andrianainarivelo (Malagasy Miara Miainga) 10.51%
Roland Ratsiraka (MTS) 9.00%
Albert Camille Vital (Hiaraka Isika) 6.85%
Saraha Georget Rabeharisoa (Antoko Maitso) 4.50%
Edgard Razafindravahy (Edgard Razafindravahy) 4.35%
Pierrot Rajaonarivelo MDM) 2.69%
Joseph Martin Randriamampionona (RTM) 2.32%
Benjamin Radavidson Andriamparany (FFF) 2.23%
William Ratrema (GAM/PATRAM) 2.14%
Jean Eugène Voninahitsy (LES AS) 2.13%
Julien Razafinmanazato (ESD) 1.61%
Monja Zafitsimivalo Roindefo (MONIMA) 1.51%
Brigitte Ihantanirina Rabemananantsoa (AMP) 1.38%
Willy Sylvain Rabetsaroana (PNJ Mazava Sylvain) 1.28%
Clément Zafisolo Ravalisaona (AME) 1.15%

A further 15 candidates each received less than 1% of the vote.
Registered electors: 7,823,305
Votes: 4,831,666
Turnout: 61.76%

In the second round, which took place on 20 December 2013, Jean Louis Robinson received 46.5% of the vote. Hery Rajaonarimampianina received 53.5% of the vote and was therefore declared president. Turnout in the second round was 50.76%.
