Presidential 2015


The election took place in two rounds on 3-5 and 16-18 December 2015. In the first round results were as follows:

James Michel (People’s Party) 47.76%
Wavel Ramkalawan (Seychelles National Party) 33.93%
Patrick Pillay (Lalyans Seselwa) 14.19%
David Pierre (Popular Democratic Movement) 2.12%
Alexcia Amesbury (Seychelles Party for Social Justice and Democracy) 1.33%
Philippe Boullé (Independent) 0.67%

Registered electors: 70,943
Votes: 62,004
Turnout: 87.4%

In the second round run-off which took place 16-18 December 2015, Wavel Ramkalawan received 49.85% of the vote. James Michel received 50.15% and was therefore re-elected as president. Turnout in the second round was 90.06%
