Bolivia launches $500m bond issue

Published

For the first time in ninety years Bolivia has issued an international bond issue. The $500m bond is a ten year dollar issue and was priced at 4.875 per cent yield.

The issue was nine times oversubscribed, despite the risk of Bolivia’s reputation for re-nationalising. The country’s economy has tripled from $9bn in 2005 to a current figure of $24bn and growth of 5.5% is expected.
