No winner in Vice Presidential debate

Published

Most media and social media reports are suggesting that the only televised debate between the two vice-presidential candidates in the 6th November election was a draw.

After a win for the Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, in last week’s debate the vice-presidential debate took on a new meaning. However, both candidates slugged it out with incumbent Vice president Joe Biden of the Democratic Party going on the attack from the start. Whilst Biden attempted to ridicule and denigrate his opponent, Paul Ryan the Republican vice-presidential candidate kept his temper and attempted to dismantle his opponent’s policies.

Areas of discussion included foreign policy, national defence, national economic recovery, Medicare and social security.

The New York Times has published the full transcript of the debate here.
