Pheu Thai leads in the capital

A new opinion poll conducted by Dhurakij Pundit University has the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) which supports exiled ex prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in the lead in the capital, Bangkok.

Pheu Thai are leading the Democrat Party of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in both the constituency and list systems.

When asked who they favour for Prime Minister, 47% said Yingluck Shinawatra, the number one candidate on the Pheu Thai list, with Abhisit Vejjajiva on 39%.

Of the 33 constituencies in the capital, Pheu Thai is leading in 22, the Democrats in six and the two parties are neck and neck in the others.

Around 26% of those interviewed said that they were undecided or refused to say who they were supporting.
