Poll shows little change

An opinion poll conducted in late July and early August by the Institute gfs.bern show very little change between the main parties prior to the 23rd October general election.

The conservative Swiss People’s Party (SVP/UDC) stand at 27.4%, down just .1% on the July figure.

The centre left Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SP/PS) are on 18.5%, down .4% on July.

The FDP.The Liberals (FDP/PLR) are on 16.1%, up 1.1% from July.

Whilst the Christian Democratic People’s Party of Switzerland (CVP/PDC/PPD) are on 15%, up 1.6% in the last month.

The Green Party of Switzerland (PES) remains on 10.1%.

The poll as reported in the RTS website shows that the effect of the Fukushima disaster has died back, with 29% of respondents saying that energy and the environment is still an issue, this is a fall of 14% on the last month. The top issue is that of migration policy with 43% expressing this as a concern; the economy is next with 15% (up 4%), health is on 14%, social insurance on 14% and unemployment on 12%.
