Republican convention to nominate Romney

Published

The Republican Party were forced to abandon the first day of their four day convention yesterday in Tampa, Florida because of Tropical Storm Isaac.

The convention will start in earnest today and will conclude with presidential candidate Mitt Romney making his acceptance speech for the nomination on Thursday night. There will not, however, be the usual partying that normally goes with such a major convention for fear that it will set the wrong impression as ordinary Americans in the path of Isaac suffer the consequent damage.

Vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan is expected to make his speech on Wednesday night.

You can find Mitt Romney’s website here.
