Romney closes the gap

Published

According to the average of the latest polls published in RealClearPolitics Mitt Romney the Republican presidential candidate has closed the gap on incumbent President Barack Obama.

Most of the polls followed on from the presidential debate last Wednesday when Romney was declared the winner with Obama looking tired and distracted according to most observers. The latest polls average puts Obama just 0.5% ahead. The latest result puts Barack Obama on 47.9% and Mitt Romney on 47.4%.

Despite better than expected unemployment figures last Friday Obama does not have appeared to have pulled back on Romney whilst the Republican candidate delivered a strong attack on the president’s foreign policy yesterday.
