Romney wins landslide in Florida

Mitt Romney has comfortably won himself 50 delegates to take to the Republican National Convention in August following yesterday’s primary in Florida.

The winner take all state primary saw an increasingly bitter contest between the two frontrunners in the race, with runner-ups Ron Paul and Rick Santorum hardly making a mark.

Mitt Romney took 46.7% of the vote in Florida to Newt Gingrich’s 32%. Rick Santorum took 13.3% and Ron Paul got 7%

This Saturday (4th February) the four contenders move on to two caucus states. Nevada will hold their vote on Saturday whilst in Maine the caucus vote will spread from 4th February through to the 11th.
