Voter registration starts today

The Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) started the registration process today (15 Janaury 2011) for their general and presidential elections in April.

110,000 direct data capture machines have been sent out to the 36 states to allow up to 70 million Nigerians to register for the elections.

The registration process started with the usual glitches and is due to finish on 29th January.
