23% go for advance voting

As of 6 p.m. local time, 22.97% of Finnish voters had opted to cast their vote during the advance voting period. In total 955,540 of the 4,159,857 eligible voters in the Finnish general election have voted. People have a further day for advance voting which closes tomorrow (Tuesday 12th April 2011) evening.

In Berlin, one of the major polling centres outside Finland, the embassy has run out of ballot papers.

Polling day is scheduled for Sunday 17th April 2011.
