2315 candidates stand in election


The number of candidates standing in the Finnish general election on 17th April 2011 is 2315 (an increase of 311 on the 2007 poll) with a total of 17 registered parties taking part. The average age of candidates standing is 45.4 years and there are 903 women or 39% of candidates taking part.
