4th March 2013 for the general election

Published

Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has set the date for the next general election as 4th March 2013.

Although the date has been announced, a number of the parties are disputing the date and arguing that only the president and prime minister can set the date. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has, however, set the date in order with the constitutional court ruling which said that elections should be held 60 days before the end of the current parliamentary term.
