Centre right opposition wins election

The centre right Democrats for Andorra led by Toni Marti have taken 55.2% of the vote and 20* of the 28 seats in the General Council election which took place yesterday, Sunday 3rd April 2011.

Previous incumbents, the Social Democratic Party (PS) of James Bartumeu managed just 34.8% of the vote. They had 14 of the 28 seats in the previous parliament.

Voter turnout was 74.14%.
