CMC elections a success

Around 43.4% turnout for the Central Municipal Council (CMC) elections in what was a peaceful and orderly process on Tuesday was seen as a success for Qatar’s continuing experiments in democracy.

Sixteen existing councillors have retained their seats in the 29 seat council.
