Danish leaders in debate

Published

Political leaders went head to head on Saturday night for the third debate in recent month about the future of Denmark. The debates precede a general election in Denmark which must take place before 12th November 2011.

The main subject of debate was the Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen’s announcement on New Year’s Day that the government were proposing to phase out the early retirement scheme. With opposition leader unwilling to come forward with the Social Democrat’s alternative plans for the economy the Prime Minister was said to have won the debate by an edge.
