Eight hopefuls to be considered for interim President

Yesterday the National Transitional Council (CNT) selected eight of 24 hopefuls to stand before them today (Monday) to be their next interim President.

The list was released by Ms. Léa Koyassoum Doumta the CNT president to the Agence Centrafrique Presse yesterday afternoon.

The list of the eight finalist candidates, which is still provisional, as published is:

Jean Barkès Ngombé Kétté, former Mayor of the city of Bangui during the regime of former president François Bozizé

Désiré Nzanga Kolingba, son of former President André Kolingba

Mrs. Régina Konzimongou

Maxime Brenga Takama, an official of the United Nations in Bangui

Catherine Samba Panza, current mayor of Bangui

Sylvain Patassé Ngakoutou, son of former President Ange-Félix Patassé

Emile Gros Raymond Nakombo, unsuccessful candidate in the 2011 presidential election

Prof. Mamadou Nali, Coordinator of the National Committee for the Fight against AIDS.
