Election Board changes mind

The Higher Board of Elections has changed its mind about banning seven of the twelve independent Kurdish candidates in the general election. 

Earlier this week twelve candidates had been banned because of their links to proscribed organisations, mainly the outlawed Kurdish Workers Party.  This led to riots across the eastern Kurdish areas of Turkey leading to the rethink.
