Election called for 7th May

A general election has been called for 7th May 2011 in Singapore which has an electorate of 2.3 million. Nominations will close on 27th April.

In the last election on 6th May 2006 the People’s Action Party (PAP) won 82 of the 84 seats. The Workers’ Party of Singapore (WP) won one seat as did the Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA).
