Election delayed indefinitely

There was to be a presidential and general election in Burkina Faso today. In the failed coup of 17th September interim President Michel Kafando were captured and held by members of the Presidential Security Regiment (RSP) until the coup leaders gave up a week later. The attempted coup has, nevertheless, affected the final period of campaigning and as a result the election has been indefinitely delayed.
