Election likely on 4th September

Published

Yesterday saw a majority of parties in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, agree that elections should be brought forward from 2013 to 4th September this year.

The move has been supported by Likud, Labour and Shas with Yisrael Beiteinu reportedly saying that they would be happy with an earlier date. Between them these parties have enough seats to dissolve parliament and call the election. This is expected to happen sometime next week.
