Elections in May

The Minister for the Interior and Local Government, Dahou Ould Kablia, has announced that legislative elections will be held sometime between 1st and 15th May this year.

The last elections were held on 17th May 2007 for the 389 seat People’s National Assembly. The winners then were the National Liberation Front (FLN) which took 136 seats with the National Rally for Democracy (RND) coming second with 61 seats.
