Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of the Front for Victory (FPV-PJ) has won the presidential election with a landslide vote.

Fernández took around 53% of the vote with about 58% of the votes counted. Her party also appears to have re-taken control of Congress. Her closest rival, Hermes Binner of the Socialist Party (PS) took around 17% of the vote.

In her victory speech Fernández said that she would continue her policies of the past because they had been proven to be correct.
