Governing party wins again

‘For a European Montenegro’, the coalition of Montenegro’s Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) led by Milo Đukanović, have won yesterday’s general election according to the Vijesti newspaper with 94.7% of the votes counted.

For a European Montenegro took 45.6% of the vote and 39 of the 81 seats in the parliament or Skupština Crne Gore.

The main opposition Democratic Front comprising the New Serbian Democracy (NOVA) and Movement for Changes (PzP) won 23.8% of the vote and 20 seats. The Socialist People’s Party (SNP) took 10.6% and nine seats whilst Positive Montenegro won seven seats with 8.9% of the vote. Four smaller parties took the remaining seats; the Bosnian Party won 3 seats, Forca, HGI and Albanian coalition took one seat each.
