Ilves wins election comfortably

President Toomas Hendrick Ilves has won the presidential election in the Riigikogu or parliament.

Ilves took 75 votes and his only rival, Independent, Indrik Tarand, took 25 votes.

Ilves will start his second five year term on 10th October; he was previously elected in 2006.
