Jammeh wins

Incumbent president Yahya Jammeh has won a fourth term in office in Thursday’s poll.

The Independent Electoral Commission has reported that President Jammeh took 72% of the vote. His closest rival and opposition leader, Ousainou Darboe took 17% of the vote and Independent Hamat Bah took 10%.

The poll was boycotted by the regional body ECOWAS, but other international observers attended.
