Left wing does well in San Marino general election

San Marino First, a list comprising the centrist Sammarinese Christian Democratic Party, the Socialist Party and the centre-left Party of Socialists of Democrats has emerged as the largest list following Sunday’s general election. San Marino First took 25 of the 60 seats in the Grand and General Council although this is a drop of 13 seats from the previous election in 2012.

In second place came the centre-left Adesso.sm with 20 seats, up two seats and in third place with 15 seats, an increase of 11 seats came the left-wing Democracy in Motion list.

Turnout was 59.66% down from 63.85% in 2012.
