Macri wins second round in BA

Published

Incumbent mayor, Mauricio Macri has won the Buenos Aires second round runoff which took place yesterday. Macri took 64.3% of the vote with the Kirchner candidate, Daniel Filmus taking 35.7%.

Last weekend the Kirchner candidate came a poor third in the Santa Fe province which is leading some analysts to ask if the Kirchner effect is on the wane. The situation might become clearer next weekend when voters in the Córdoba province go to the polls.
