Municipal elections on 18th May

The Independent Electoral Commission has announced that the date for the Municipal elections in South Africa will take place on 18th May 2011.  The last elections were held in 2006.

Voters registered on 10th March 2011 will be eligible to vote.

This is a major election in South Africa and will be an important barometer on the state of the parties.
