Musharraf “ready for election”

Ex President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan has said that his newly formed party, the All Pakistan Muslim League is ready to contest an early general election in Pakistan.

The general election wasn’t due until 2013, but when the the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) left the government on 2nd January it left opportunities for a no confidence vote and early election.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Yousef Raza Gilani announced that his government had reached a deal with the Pakistani Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) if there were to be a vote of no-confidence.
