Nakomboof sets out manifesto

In late December Emile Gros Raymond Nakomboof the RDC laid out his manifesto for the forthcoming Presidential election.  The key points were:

  • End the rebellion and stop the Lords Resistance Army using the CAR as a base
  • Work towards economic recovery through fiscal consolidation
  • Develop the infrastructure of the country
  • Boost agriculture
  • Improve the education system,
  • Improve sanitation and resolve the many health hazards including the continued fight with AIDS and malaria through improved health coverage
  • Ensure access to safe drinking water and widen coverage of electricity
  • Promotion of sports, arts and leisure
  • Making employment of youth and women a priority
  • Promote a New Defence Force and security force
  • Establish a Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
