New ForMin and Education Minister

Two changes have been made to Estonia’s Cabinet after Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand resigned to run in the country’s presidential election.

Jürgen Ligi has been appointed the new Minister of Foreign Affairs whilst Maris Lauri has been appointed as the new Minister of Education and Research.

Lauri (50) has a degree in Economics from the University of Tartu and a Master’s degree. She had worked as the Chief Economist of Swedbank and for the Bank of Estonia. She was Minister of Finance between November 2014 and April 2015.
